At this year’s winter edition of Youth Camp, Izazov (Challenge), which is organized twice a year by the Church of the Full Gospel, about 20 young people aged 13 to 19 spent their winter school break actively and unforgettably, together with experienced youth program leaders.
The main theme of the camp was “A Step Forward,” with the goal of teaching young people how not to pause on their journey with Christ when they return to everyday life after the camp, where they are intensely focused on God and spiritual realities.
The beginning and end of each day were dedicated to worshiping God through song and prayer. Along with plenty of time for fellowship, there was an atmosphere of closeness and acceptance. The campers also had the opportunity to compete in outdoor sports and participate in various interesting and creative games, such as team competitions in creating and solving, and escape rooms.
In addition to spiritual teaching and inspirational lessons, practical workshops were organized on how to be freed from fear, unforgiveness, and anger. The central message was that these issues are rooted in our identity, and when we discover the identity we have in Christ, these problems will also be resolved.
Later, participants joyfully testified that the workshops were a great blessing because they received practical guidance and useful life advice, along with relatable examples. Many returned home changed. They managed to forgive where forgiveness once seemed impossible, changed their attitudes toward parents and friends, overcame fears, and learned to better control their anger. Even their family members testified that they returned transformed.
Throughout the camp, everyone was aware of God’s strong presence and the work of the Holy Spirit, who touched everyone present. Some, inspired by testimonies of how Jesus changes the lives of other young people, dedicated their lives to Christ and received baptism in the Holy Spirit.
The journey continues at the summer edition of Camp Izazov, and now we eagerly await all that God will continue to do in us and among us!
