Alongside our many spiritual activities and teachings, our church places great importance on building fellowship. To spend time together and get to know one another better in a different setting, we regularly organize group outings — and this year, September 20th was reserved for our trip to a local foothill, Sljeme.
Our adventure began at 11 a.m. with a ride on the cable car up the mountain — an experience that especially thrilled the youngest among us. We arrived at the TV tower and confidently set off toward the popular resturaunt on the mountain, Puntijarka, first descending for about 20 minutes before tackling a half-hour climb. For many of us, that was quite enough, and soon a few playful complaints could be heard. We couldn’t wait for the moment we’d finally sit down for lunch.
At last — the reward! All that effort was well worth it, and we ended the day enjoying each other’s company over delicious homemade food at Puntijarka. Our original plan was to hike back down — hoping to burn off some of those freshly gained calories — but in the end, we happily changed our minds. With full stomachs, the bus or cable car seemed far more tempting than a long walk downhill.
We all delighted in the lush greenery, the colors of autumn, and the time spent together. Days like this remind us how valuable fellowship is — and we hope there will be many more trips like this one!
