Certainly one of the most important and joyful events in the life of every believer is baptism. It represents a confirmation of our decision to follow Christ, a public declaration of our faith in him. By being immersed in water, we symbolize that we are washed of sin, declaring that we have left behind our old life, our old nature, and died to sin, just as Jesus died on the cross. Now, just as He rose again, we are born anew and walk in new life. That is why it is important for those who are baptized to be old enough to make that decision on their own.

This year, we held our baptism service on Saturday, June 29 at 6 pm at Jarun Lake in Zagreb. Before the baptism event, a brief introduction was given on the meaning of baptism for every believer. After that, before being immersed in water, each believer publicly professed, before God and witnesses, their belief in Jesus Christ as the only Savior and Redeemer, that Jesus died for their sins and rose from the dead, and that they are willing to follow Him even at the cost of their own life.

20 new converts were baptized, including a few who spontaneously decided to take part, making it a truly  significant event. The Word of God says that when one sinner is saved, all of heaven rejoices. How much joy there was in heaven that day, celebrating together with us! It was truly a Happy Day!
